Latest News from the mosque

August 27th 2004

There have been quite a few changes during the summer holidays.  Our old rooms 1 - 3 have been demolished to make way four four new classrooms which will soon arrive.  As the new rooms won't be finished until late September or October, they have been replaced by three temporary Portakabin-type rooms behind the Bower House.

Maggie, Greg and Andrew are now using room 5 (the old floristry room next to the common room) as an office.  Annie, John and Hugh have joined them there and  Lynda Bennett is now in their old office at the end of room 4.

Sarah, Donnia and Linda will also be based in the room 5 office.  All you need to remember is that everyone involved with Schools and Foundation courses are now in the new room 5 office, except for Pat and Jane + Fiona and Tony who stay where they were last year.

We now have 1000mb of webspace.   This means that from now on we can save photos at a higher resolution without the risk of running out of room and they will be of much better quality when printed off.

Despite a nunber of requests, the student committee will not use this site to promote events or post information of any kind. If you would like this service resumed, please contact your rep.

If you are observant, you will have spotted a few changes.

The format and backgrounds etc. have been changed to make the site a bit easier to navigate.  Pages have been added for the school groups attending on a regular basis, and the home page now just contains links.

We are hoping to have a regular report from the student committee as well as posting match reports, photos etc.  They have to be submitted though.  This didn't happen last year - if you want this service, it's up to you!

What you don't see is that the whole site is slowly being re-organised to make modifications easier.  We are only using half the space available on the server (situated in downtown Los Angeles incidentally) but even so uploads were getting rather slow.  Updates should now happen a bit quicker.

There has been a problem with no college digital camera being available, bu this should now be sorted.

Remember that because the college management does not approve this site, all work has to to be done out of college time, using an old laptop and a dial-up internet connection.  Please be patient.
