November 25th

We've progressed to using a tractor mounted rotavator to loosen soil before removal and it's beginning to look like a pond now!

November 3rd and 11th

An old harrow was rescued from scrap and pressed into service to shatter the stoney soil so it could be shovelled off (better than using a pick)

October 2003

Work was started on the new pond for the Animal Care Unit

First the hazards posed by drains, gas and electrics were identified

After removal of the topsoil, the ground was marked with a spray and work carried on

March 25th 2003 - fence at reservoir finished and hurdle put in place

    

   

March 2003 - garden maintenance at Southbank

        

Jan. 2003 - fence repairs at reservoir and sheepshed

        

Nov. 26th 2002 - repairing post and rail fence at tractor yard

     

Oct. 21st 2002 - Clearing old fence for replacement

  

Oct. 1st 2002 - finishing footpath and doing our bit for global warming! +collecting cans and plastic bottles from station.
